Basile divides his time between Besançon, Europe and Quebec. He trained as an acrobat at the École Nationale de Cirque de Montréal/Tiohtià:ke, where he learned to create circus spaces in three dimensions. He developed his personal practice in a duet: next to a large mat in the shape of a donut (Within 2019). In this work he combines the circus body, sound movements and visual arts. He then opened up to performance art alongside Peter James (REDAMNSION 2022) and Nien Tzu Weng (Through us _comme espaces_ passions, 2021).

He continues to experiment with prosthetics and an intimate relationship with the object, while moving towards compositional work. He was shortlisted for circusnext 2023 with Broths/ et autres paysages, co-written with Maxime Steffan.

He is currently working on his new piece, Looking for M. In this solo performance, scheduled for 2027, he explores the transformation of his body as it transitions from childhood to adulthood through the lens of fluid, questioning masculinities, aided by new prosthetic objects.

Alongside his artistic creations, he organizes and co-creates performance nights where artists are invited to present crash tests, works in progress, or other experiments. These events serve as spaces for encounters between artists and disciplines. These events began at Montreal’s White Wall Studio (DanceJam/Live Event One…) and the most recent one, called LA CLAQUE Party, took place in Strasbourg in September 2025.

Among his projects, he has collaborated with the collectives Valby Ruta (QC) and The Circus Dialogues (BE). He performs in the show La Danse d’Amazon, a production created in Berlin in 2023 by the German company Rimini Protokoll and for the company Une Bonne masse Solaire. During the 24/25 season, he was an associate artist with the theaters of Caen for the Millennial Academy. He also serves as an outside eye for the Swiss acrobat Lili Parson on her solo piece Titre Provisoire and assists and performs with the performer Geneviève Matthieu.

He believes it’s important to remain curious, to constantly question the political place of his work and to continue to meet other collaborators with whom to shape other creative spaces.
